Creating a new Appearance for NiteMates

A few weeks ago I reported about the digital nightlife update named NiteMates. This time I created a whole new appearance for NiteMates through their website, blog and logo design. You might notice that I also updated the design of my website here *tadaaa*. I hope you enjoy it! Websites are the face of every brand and are the foundation of every modern business. Starting a business, no matter online or offline, is challenging enough. Not having a functional website is probably the worst mistake every new business starter can make. I am always astonished how many small businesses there are…

A Penguin Ninja Game

You may get the assumption that penguins are not my favorite animals. First you had to hit them, now you have to slice them in order to win the game. You’re intuition proves you wrong. Basically this one is a game like “Fruit Ninja” but with penguins and bombs. Each sliced penguin gives you a point in your score, every missed penguin subtracts one of three lifes and if you catch a bomb the game is over immediately. It has also a level system. The more penguins you catch, the harder the level gets and the more penguins will appear at ones. I added…

Whack-a-Penguin, a new iPad Game

New week, new game! I never though I would write games for the iPad, but here we go. This game similar to the “Whack-a-Mole” game. But since climate is changing are penguins hiding in burrows. It’s my second time using SpriteKit. All the parts of Whack-a-Penguin are images that lay over each other. No buttons or tables have been inserted. I programmed touch-recognition and distinguished the good and bad penguins to give + or – scores: The penguin images are in the background all the time, but appear and disappear in random order. Additionally a sound will appear when hitting good ones, and another one when you hit the evil…

First iPad game using SpriteKit!

I implemented SpriteKit the first time for this game. SpriteKit is Apple’s fast and easy toolkit designed specifically for 2D games. The game I did is called Pachinko or “Peggle”. I inserted the background, placed the rainbow bouncers on their place and added red and green slot bases that would later count the score. They are programmed to spin which gives them a fun animation. First the balls just fell wherever I click and didn’t disappear in the slot bases. I gave the slot bases values – either a negative point for red or positive one for green. I also gave the condition that when ball touches the base they…

Why I started to Code

This might be a weird combination – a Fashion Design degree and a passion for technology. The truth is the computer has always been my friend. I found it quite easy to navigate through programs. Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign were not difficult to learn. The internet was an open space to discover. However I never digged deeper into this topic, or questioned how these programs functioned in their root. I remember we had a computer science class (well, let’s say we scratched the surface of it) in my high school. We learned how we can command a robot guy to walk…

Next16 – {“Hello World”} Graduate Fashion Show

My Bachelor Collection {“Hello World”} was shown at the Graduate Fashion Show NEXT16 in Munich. The runway show was a great spectacle for all my fellow students and me. All our graduate collections were shown to a broad community of fashion enthusiasts and journalists. It was a great honor and pleasure for all of us and a huge release after all the work. I loved the atmosphere in the hall. The show took place at the Säulenhalle München. Light effects made the colors and fabrics stick out and put our collections in great limelight. The rough reverberating hall was the best location for a show like…

{“Hello World”} – Image Clip

An Image Clip for {“Hello World”} was a great tool to visually explain my interpretation and thoughts further. There were a lot of ideas that would work better in moving images. To visualize a technological topic like this even more, I installed projectors with small electronic clips. Different headlights were added as well, but this time only in white light color. Artificial fog was used to make the light effects more visible and to build a visual bridge between electronic lights and the cooling system of computers. It should be a frosty, clean image clip that emphasizes the materials and 3D elements worn in my collection. You can find the image shooting…

{“Hello World”} – Bachelor Collection

{“Hello World”} An Avantgarde Bachelor Collection My Bachelor Collection {“Hello World”} found a beautiful finish. The last three months I designed and handcrafted the whole fashion collection made of 7 outfits in total. The collection’s topic is {“Hello World”}. I wanted to plunge deeper in the details of modern technology. All those inventions and developments in artificial intelligence and machine learning, how to build the perfect copy of the human brain are crazy. I got involved in this subject after joining the online platform Treehouse to learn Webdevelopment on my own. My bachelor thesis dealt with how networks work and how our Big Data is saved a million miles away, though are…

Awareness Collection – A new interpretation

The main theme of this collection were birds of prey. More precisely eagles. Vulnerability and shelter played an important role visualized in naked skin and fake fur. I had an awesome outdoor shooting at the Olympiapark in Munich but I recently found a great photographer interested in my work. So here is his interpretation of my collection, a more desert theme inspired by the movie Mad Max. I love it! All photos shot by Route8.
